Uchiro, once known for his stumbling gait and slurred speech as his life revolved around the local brew (a traditional homemade alcoholic drink, often brewed from sorghum or millet in rural South Sudan), saw his income evaporate along with his hope. The group supported him, held him accountable when temptation came, and today he is sober. His family has their husband and father back, and he is a respected member of the community. 

Anguec, a woman known for her quick temper that sparked constant disputes with neighbors and family, was deeply challenged by lessons on forgiveness and loving one’s neighbor. Through group discussions and encouragement, she learned to pause and choose peace. The quarrels have ceased, replaced by reconciliation and a new reputation as a peacemaker.
