Youth Empowerment for Sustainability Zimbabwe (YES Zimbabwe) is a youth-led community organization based in Mutare, Zimbabwe, dedicated to empowering young people to become leaders of sustainable development. We work at the intersection of environmental conservation, youth leadership, community development, health promotion, civic engagement, and skills development. Since our establishment, we have mobilized young people to restore ecosystems through tree planting and community clean-up campaigns, promote environmental awareness, conduct drug and substance abuse awareness initiatives, and strengthen youth participation in local development. We believe that young people are not only beneficiaries of development but active partners in creating resilient and inclusive communities. Through collaboration with schools, local authorities, community leaders, and development partners, YES Zimbabwe equips young people with practical skills, volunteer opportunities, and leadership experience that enable them to address local challenges while contributing to national and global sustainable development goals. Our vision is to build empowered youth leading sustainable communities, while our mission is to inspire, equip, and mobilize young people to drive positive environmental and social change through innovation, collaboration, and community action.
