Zimbabwe · Community-Based Organizations (CBOs)
organisation was formed to respond to challenges that rural women face including climate change, landlessness, limited representation in decision making, limited access to resources and livelihoods. WLZ's work is directed towards empowering rural women to demand social and economic inclusion. WLZ embraces Rural Women’s Economic Empowerment as a tool for Social, Political, Environmental and Economic Inclusion and gender justice. WLZ mobilizes and organizes rural women into advocacy groups to amplify their voices and build their agency to participate in the development and implementation of policies affecting them to reduce poverty and gender inequalities. This work also includes supporting interventions that strengthen rural women’s voices through building local, national regional and international advocacy networks and promoting interconnection to ensure that the fight against poverty, climate injustice, climate damage and loss and inequality is guided by both national, regional, and international policies, agendas, and priorities.
