Through long-term partnerships, we uplift, empower, and walk side by side with these communities to help make sustainable change possible. PHILANTHROPIC EDUCATIONAL EXCURSIONS https://www.uthandosa.org/excursions/ Uthando began in 2007 with a vision to bridge the gap between South African tourism and local community development. We recognised the potential of responsible tourism to generate meaningful investment and lasting impact at a grassroots level. As an award-winning, Fair Trade Tourism-certified organisation, we offer half-day Philanthropic Educational Excursions that give travellers in Cape Town the opportunity to learn from, engage with, and support inspiring community development projects across the city. OUR IMPACT Over the past two decades, the platform we have built for community development projects has raised close to R90 million and supported more than 50 projects in and around Cape Town. Our mission is to help our community partners realise their dreams and aspirations. It has been an extraordinary privilege to walk alongside them and contribute to meaningful change over the last 20 years. WASTE TO WONDER https://www.uthandosa.org/waste-to-wonder-campaign/ Love for People & Planet is our guiding philosophy and lies at the heart of everything we do. Alongside supporting our community partners and their projects, our Waste To Wonder Campaign addresses critical infrastructure needs by transforming discarded materials into world-class community facilities. These include schools and soccer pitches, with current fundraising efforts focused on the development of a multi-purpose sports centre and an urban agricultural facility.
