Green Systems Innovation Hub (GSI Hub) is a youth-led nonprofit working to ensure that young people are not just part of conversations about climate change—they are leading the solutions. Since 2023, we have directly engaged more than 500 young people across Kenya through climate education, leadership training, ecosystem restoration, policy dialogues, and green innovation programs. Our work has reached students, youth groups, educators, and local communities, helping them develop practical skills to respond to environmental challenges while creating sustainable economic opportunities. Our flagship initiatives include the Campus Climate Senate, which equips young leaders to influence environmental policies in universities; Voices of GSI, which amplifies youth perspectives on climate issues; and community-based restoration activities, including tree-growing campaigns, school greening initiatives, and environmental awareness programs. We have also convened youth dialogues on climate policy and employment, bringing together young people, government representatives, civil society, and development partners to co-create locally driven solutions. Beyond Kenya, we have created opportunities for young people to participate in regional and global climate conversations through partnerships, webinars, and international collaborations. We believe the people most affected by the climate crisis should also have the greatest opportunity to shape its solutions. Our mission is simple: equip young people with the knowledge, leadership, and networks they need to restore ecosystems, strengthen communities, and build a greener, more resilient future for everyone.
