Founded in 2007 by lifelong advocate Julienne Lusenge in collaboration with other women leaders, the Fonds pour les Femmes Congolaises (FFC) is the first and only national feminist fund in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) dedicated to supporting locally women-led grassroots and initiatives. FFC serves as a vital bridge between international donors and grassroots organizations that have a deep understanding of local challenges. The fund’s mission is to create a DRC free from violence by providing crucial financial and technical support across six core areas: sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR), conflict management, economic empowerment, climate justice, and political participation. To date, FFC has successfully channeled resources directly to the front lines by awarding more than 650 grants to over 300 grassroots women's organizations across the country, empowering them to drive meaningful and lasting social change.
